Pulp Fiction

BOTANY and other stories brought The Cabinet of Curiosities back to Hay-on-Wye on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2025, filling the Butter Market in Hay-on-Wye with a new exhibition.

Why? To examine paper in all its forms (with a focus on books) and explore its various links with the natural world.

We took this opportunity to celebrate Hay-on-Wye, the world’s first Town of Books, created by Richard Booth and twinned with two other towns with strong links to books: Timbuktu in Mali with its ancient manuscripts and Redu in Belgium, known as a Village du Livre/Book Town.

The weekend was an opportunity...

  • to become a Friend of BOTANY and other stories

  • to meet the team and discuss the plans for 2025

  • for young people to join the Budding Botanical Artists Club.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit!
